Message: I was work tonight and an interesting conversation arose from my Linguistics homework. The homework was to find someone with a different accent and document their dialect. My manager was trying to say he had a greek accent when in reality, he was just coming up with other accents. The running joke is though, what does a gay amish man sound like? My manager could do the gay part, he could do the amish part, but could not combine them. Is there any sound bits floating around the internet of a gay amish man? If so, could ya let me know, thanks.

Message: Did you ever see a show on UPN last year called Amish in the City? There was an Amish guy on it named Randy who "sounded gay", partly because he had a lisp.

Message: You don't have to sound gay to be gay, Thats rubbish.
Why do people always think gay men are camp and talk a certain way?
A Gay Amish man or boy would sound no different to a Amish man or boy.

Message: I was just trying to figure out what the Lisp had to do with sounding gay.
and Andy, in your post you say " you don't have to sound Gay" which is in itself eluding to the possibility that there is in fact a way, although not mandatory, to sound gay. A specific style of speech to create the illusion of GAY has been performed in countless musicals and film.
Not inclusive of the entire gay community. Not mandatory. But slightly possible that a very select few gay men may possess an almost feminine sound in there manor of speech. I mean it's possible.
